The Friendship Force is a non-profit, non-sectarian, non-political home-hosting organization dedicated to the principle that each person can make a contribution to global goodwill.

The Aim of the Friendship Force

To foster peace and understanding throughout the world by means of personal contacts and shared experiences achieved through a progam of home hosting.

The first priority is to develop friendships and through this to generate understanding across cultural boundaries.

There are more than 350 clubs in 56 countries throughout the world.

The Friendship Force is not a travel club although the core activity is travelling in groups being home hosted with like minded people in other countries.

The Friendship Force was founded in the USA in 1977 and is coordinated from Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

WHAT IS AN EXCHANGE?
The main objective of the Friendship Force is to create an environment where personal friendships may be established between individuals despite the international barriers of race and language that separate people.

An “Exchange” is a one week visit by a group of club members to another ‘host’ club. This usually consists of 20 to 25 visitors known as “Ambassadors” who will live as guests in the homes of host club members and partake with their hosts in a program of activities arranged by the host club.

Hosts are not paid to receive ambassadors but the ambassadors pay, in addition to their travelling costs, administration fees which cover all the operational costs of the host club and Friendship Force International.

Members who are unable to host during a particular exchange can enjoy being involved by dinner and/or day-hosting and by participating in the day to day organised activities during the week.
