During our 3rd phase with Kapiti Coast club, one of those “dash in, dash out” visits was made to a local shopping mall.

Being from “down under” when we noticed a group of people approaching who were wearing green Friendship Force badges, we naturally thought they were Kapiti Coast members. “Not so”, said our host - “I don't recognise any of them”.

A closer look at their badges revealed they were from Varel, Germany!

What a small world....

Members of South Taranaki Club (New Zealand) then appeared and explained to us that the people from Varel had been hosted with first of all, Auckland club, then with members of South Taranaki, and were now on their way to their 3rd phase with Wellington club in the South of the North Island of New Zealand.

Naturally we took the opportunity of a photo shot to capture such an auspicious meeting on film! Members from 4 clubs - Gold Coast, Australia, Varel, Germany and the 2 New Zealand clubs, Kapiti Coast and South Taranaki - unexpectedly ‘bumping into’ each other - demonstrated that Friendship Force friends are just about everywhere!!
